The following are recipes of brews I have done at some point over the years. Every recipe here began with a question: what did this actually taste like, and could I brew it again?

These are historical formulations worked back from period sources, then brewed with modern grain bills, supplies, and equipment — along with the compromises that come with all three. Each write-up names the source I worked from, what I changed and why, and how the finished beer turned out. Where I got it wrong, I’ve said so.
